"Caveat Emptor "(Buyer Beware)
Some of the boats that we sell are "Projects" Due to the very nature of our listings, many of these boats are not suited for a novice or first time buyer, no matter how attractive the price.
For example, a while back we located the right buyer for a beautiful and classic 92' motoryacht, built in Seattle in 1919. The asking price was only $15,000! Yes, it floats and WOW it's "a lot of boat for the money". But, as most of you know, the sales price of a boat like this is only the tip of the iceberg. Only someone with deep pockets and much experience should consider a boat such as this and the full restoration that goes along with it.
That said, our job is to sell boats and at the same time help our buyers avoid the pitfalls. This is easier for us, as we have already fallen into most of them.That said, with some due diligence and sweat equity on the part of the buyer, it is often times possible to save thousands on a yacht that might otherwise be unaffordable.
